life, for me, is mostly about perspective .. and what better way to polish your perspectacles than to be a passive observer at a memorial service ..
on a recent gloriously beautiful sunny day in Seattle, I took a ferry across the waters of the Puget Sound .. as Seattle disappeared on the horizon, it was announced that the ferry would be slowing down for a memorial service ..
stop the press .. memorial service aboard a Washington state ferry .. is this a thing?
yes, yes it is .. you can actually have a memorial service aboard a Washington state ferry .. news to me and maybe to you as well .. and in case you are interested, the details can be found here: https://wsdot.wa.gov/ferries/rider-information/groups-events/special-occasions
anyway, as the ferry slowed to a crawl, a family of grievers gathered at the back of the ferry and paid their respects .. beautiful red roses were tossed into the waters of the Puget Sound .. a biodegradable urn was lovingly lowered .. tears were shed and hugs were shared .. and the ferry soon carried on ..
an innocuous start to a weekend jolly .. and a definite “polish your perspectacles” moment ..
thanks for coming along with me ..
